Concerns have been raised and a review launched about the recent work of a radiologist who had been practising in Yorkton, health officials say.
The chief executive officer of the Sunrise health region, Joe Kirwan, will be holding a news conference Wednesday to discuss the results of the review, which was conducted by the College of Physicians of Saskatchewan.
The health region didn't provide any details Tuesday, but did say the college "identified concerns related to significant clinical differences of opinion in the interpretation of diagnostic images in the region."
The health region didn't identify the radiologist, but said the person had privileges at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre.
"Results and actions" stemming from the review will be released at the Yorkton news conference on Wednesday, the health region said.
Radiology is the branch of medicine dealing with diagnostic imaging, such as X-rays, MRIs and ultrasounds.
