Moose Jaw, Sask., often called "The Friendly City" on billboards and brochures, is getting a new slogan.

The new catchphrase that city council and tourism groups want to promote is "Surprisingly Unexpected."

The slogan was unveiled on Tuesday. Officials hope it will help draw more visitors, businesses and residents to the city.

Along with the new slogan, there's a new logo: an exclamation point shaped like a moose antler.

Moose Jaw had been known for years as "The Band City" for its many musical bands and it's still often called that.

The new slogan is aimed mainly at people outside the city, but there will be some internal promotion too, officials said Tuesday.
