Another former employee of the First Nations University of Canada in Regina has been charged with stealing money from the institution.

Janet Lee Kurtz, 42, who now lives in Toronto, is facing one count of fraud over $5,000 and one count of theft over $5,000.

According to court files, RCMP allege the money was taken between August 2004 and June 2005. The exact amount was not disclosed.

University officials refused to discuss the case because the matter is before the courts.

Kurtz's case is scheduled to return to provincial court in Regina on Oct. 30.

Kurtz was an accounting officer in the university's finance department.

Earlier this year, another former employee, Wes Stevenson, the vice-president of administration, was charged with defrauding the university. He has said he is innocent of the charge.

His case is still before the courts.
