The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed offensive linemen John Feugill and Ryan Freeman on Thursday.

Feugill started in 12 games with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2005 and also spent two seasons in Toronto, starting in 31 games for the Argos.

"We expect to have strong competition across the board in training camp and our offensive line will be no exception," said Saskatchewan general manager Eric Tillman.

"John has played for both [head coach Kent Austin] and [assistant Mike Gibson] and both coaches feel he will bring strong competition to training camp."

Freeman spent the past five seasons with Queen's University, where he served as a team captain in 2005 and 2006. Freeman started 37 regular season games at guard and tackle during his university career.

"Ryan may prove to be a young Canadian who has fallen through the cracks," said Tillman.

"When he was not selected in the 2006 draft, he returned to Queen's for an additional season where he caught Mike Gibson's eye. In doing our research, we received outstanding feedback from Queen's head coach Pat Sheahan."

Also on Thursday, the Edmonton Eskimos signed linebackers Russel Rabe and Kenny Onatolu.

Rabe spent time in the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers last season, while Onatolu played the past four years at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, where he recorded 324 tackles.
