A young Saskatoon woman was expected to appear in court on Wednesday in Grande Prairie, Alta., to face two charges of child abandonment.
A 21-month-old was found wandering and a 10-month-old sibling was found alone in a playpen in a small camper in a campground in Hythe, about 500 kilometres northwest of Edmonton.
RCMP arrested a 22-year-old woman in connection with the abandonment on July 3. She has been released on bail.
The Edmonton Journal reported that the partner of the woman was an oilfield worker and the two had been living in the campground with their children since June 1.
