The RCMP officer who was shot at his home in Carrot River Monday night is undergoing more surgery.
Const. Greg Toogood, 28, suffered serious injuries to his arm in the shooting.
Toogood, who has been with the RCMP for five years, was off-duty at home with his family at around 8 p.m. Monday when he was shot.
RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Brian Jones says Toogood went to the back door of his house when he heard some noise.
Before he could respond, he was shot in the arm by someone outside his home. One shot was fired.
Police from Saskatoon, Nipawin and Regina continue to investigate. A male suspect was arrested earlier in the week, but he was released on Wednesday morning.
Meanwhile, local residents are feeling anxious while the gunman is on the loose.
Town administer Duril Touet says its reassuring to see a large team of police investigate the shooting, but the community is hoping the person responsible is caught soon.
Police says it's too early to determine when Toogood will be able to return to work.
