A teenage girl who found a video of herself on the internet getting beaten up says it's more common than people might think.

Fourteen-year-old Jessica Beamish, a student at E.D. Feehan High School in Saskatoon, says earlier this month she was walking with a friend when she was jumped and repeatedly punched and kicked by two other girls.

She estimates there were least 100 people watching while she was knocked to the ground. One of them had a camera.

She thinks she was videorecorded being beaten up because people wanted to see a "chick" fight.

She lost consciousness and received cuts and bruises. However, the victimization didn't end there. Video of the fight soon found its way onto the internet.

Beamish said she received a group e-mail telling her where she could download it.

"I've watched it so many times that it doesn't really bother me any more, but at first it just made me really mad," she said.

Fights among students that are videotaped are fairly common, she said.

"The school doesn't usually find out about them," she said. "There's always someone who brings a phone or a camera or something and tapes them."

Her mother Jenna Beamish was horrified.

"I watched it once and, I mean, it makes you cry," she said. "It's your child."

Police are investigating the incident.

Const. Dave Malanovich of the Saskatoon Police Service said this type of cyberbullying is on the rise.

"It's very dangerous and a very cruel way to victimize somebody," he said.
