A Saskatoon Conservative MP is launching a legal-defence fund for the two former police officers at the centre of the "starlight tours" scandal.

Maurice Vellacott says Dan Hatchen and Ken Munson were wrong to drop an aboriginal man on the outskirts of town in frigid weather. But Vellacott says their convictions for unlawful confinement should be overturned.

Sask MP wants Munson and Hatchen case reopened
Today Vellacott and Hatchen held a news conference in front of the Queen's Bench courthouse. Hatchen says there is evidence that should clear him. He says he is considering a Supreme Court challenge of his conviction.
