The pilot of a small plane landed safely on the grounds of the RCMP Training Academy in Regina Friday night, after reporting a mechanical problem.
According to RCMP, the plane touched down around 6:30 p.m. CST.
The Training Academy, also known as Depot Division, has a large paved area used for driver training.
The academy is just a few metres away from the Regina airport.
RCMP said the pilot had some sort of mechanical issue as he approached Regina.
The pilot was the only person on board and he was unhurt. The plane suffered no damage.
Emergency fire crews from both the airport and the city of Regina went to Depot to make sure everything was safe.
RCMP said they would not be allowing any media onto the grounds, to have a closer look.
They added the incident would be reported to aviation authorities and investigated.
