Search for baby's body at landfill continues
A methodical search will continue through the weekend for the remains of a newborn child in a Saskatoon garbage dump.
Police got word last week that a 17-year-old girl had given birth over Thanksgiving at her Saskatoon home.
They believe the infant died and the body was placed in a garbage container, which was then emptied by a city truck and taken to the dump.
A police dog and handler from Calgary who have been involved in the hunt have been replaced by a fresh team.
The Saskatoon Police Service's Major Crimes unit is still investigation the circumstances surrounding the birth and death of the infant.
