SaskTel internet prices going up

SaskTel was telling customers this week that effective February, the monthly cost of its High Speed Classic and infiNET Classic internet service would go up 14 per cent to $39.95. (CBC)

SaskTel is ringing in the New Year by telling internet customers it's jacking up prices.

In February, people who get the popular High Speed Classic and infiNET internet services through the government-owned phone company will pay $5 more per month.

Service that costs $34.95 a month now will go up to $39.95 — a 14 per cent increase.

A letter that was mailed to customers this week says the price increase will pay for SaskTel to invest in its network, expand the products it offers and "maintain advanced support."

The increase will be reflected in customers' February SaskTel bills.
