It’s bendy, it’s trendy and it’s just for preschoolers.
Space Stretch is a new television series being shot in Saskatoon. It combines live action and animation to take youngsters through a variety of yoga poses.
The concept originated with producer Tim Tyler, who practises yoga with his family.
"The hardest period for any parent of young kids is that period between waking up and getting out the door," Tyler said. "We’re hoping to give parents the opportunity to give their kids the opportunity to do some yoga that will increase their concentration power."
Much of the show is done using green screen technology, a production technique that allows live actors to appear with computer-generated images.
The kids involved say they love it.
"I like it because it’s nice and peaceful and calm," Lillia Fittler, six, said.
Space Stretch will air on City TV this Summer.
