Police say they'll give a jaywalking ticket to a 50-year-old Saskatoon woman who was struck and injured by a car around midnight Thursday.

Saskatoon police said the woman was hit by a vehicle as she crossed mid-block on the 1600 block of 22nd St. W. on the west side of the city.

She was taken to hospital with what is believed to be a broken leg, police said.

The 24-year-old driver of the car was obeying all traffic laws at the time, they said.

The incident follows a fatal car-pedestrian collision in Saskatoon on Tuesday. In that case, a 26-year-old man died in hospital after trying to cross the street mid-block.

Police said the man's death was Saskatoon's sixth traffic fatality of 2011, and the third involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
