A first-degree murder trial underway in Saskatoon is now facing a month-long delay.

George Allgood is accused of killing his ex-girlfriend Susan Reinhardt. She was shot and killed as she lay in bed.

The prosecution says the defence team is pursuing new evidence and the trial will be postponed.

Allgood confessed on videotape to undercover RCMP officers who were posing as mobsters. He now says he made that story up.
