Saskatoon approves recycling program for apartment-dwellers
People who live in apartment buildings and condos in Saskatoon could soon have have a new recycling service — along with a monthly fee.
On Monday, city council passed a motion to impose mandatory recyling for multiple unit dwellings, which includes apartments, condos and townhouses.
It will be a dual-stream program, meaning paper has to be separated from cans and plastic. It's still being decided if glass will be included.
The processor for these recyclables will be Cosmopolitan Industries. The exact fees and the start date have yet to be worked out.
