Designer Sage Wosminity, 15, is excited to be a part of Saskatchewan Fashion, currently underway in Regina.
"I really wanted to do it and just didn't want to wait," Wosminity told CBC News a few days before her fashions are showcased. Wosminity's collection is set to be part of the Saturday show for SFW.
"I've never done this before," she said, about her debut as a designer. "I've never even made clothes for anybody else. So this is the first time for all of this. All the steps. Fitting the models and dressing them backstage and all that."
While Wosminity, a Grade 10 student, is new to the fashion runway, she is no novice seamstress.
"I've been sewing for my whole life," she said. "My Grandma taught me because I used to go to her house before I went to elementary school, like for kindergarten and stuff, and she taught me how to sew and draw there."
Saskatchewan Fashion Week is presenting the collections of 22 designers at shows being held at the Canada-Saskatchewan Soundstage in Regina.
