The Saskatchewan Legislature is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the opening of the legislative building in Regina with a number of activities, including the creation of a new time capsule to be opened in 100 years.

The time capsule will contain photos, letters and a children's book — A Prairie Alphabet — by author Jo Bannatyne-Cugnet.

"I think in the future when they look back that they will realize that we did celebrate, and had a very good, colourful healthy lifestyle," Bannatyne-Cugnet said Thursday.

The time capsule will be sealed at the end of this year.
