Saskatchewan at the Olympics: Tuesday, Feb. 11
The eyes of Saskatchewan were on several homegrown Olympians Tuesday.
White City's Marsha Hudey was competing in women's speedskating in events that began around 6:45 a.m. CST and were scheduled to end around 9:44 a.m.
Meanwhile, people from the Wawota Figure Skating Club will likely be glued to the TV as Paige Lawrence (who's from Kennedy) and Rudi Sweigers (who's from Kipling) compete in the mixed pairs, short program.
That event takes place from 9 a.m.-12:21 p.m. CST.
William Dutton (Humboldt) competed in the men's speedskating, 500 metres. He was tied for 18th place in the first race and 14th in the final. Skaters from the Netherlands won gold, silver and bronze.
Meanwhile, the woman's hockey team (with the pride of Shaunavon, Hayley Wickenheiser) was triumphant over Finland: 3-0.
