A Saskatchewan man who pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a minor has had his teaching certificate cancelled.

Trevor Latham used to teach school in Sturgis.

Last September, he pleaded guilty to sexual assault of a minor and was sentenced to 18 months probation.

He was accused of inappropriately touching a girl.

After reviewing his case, the Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation ordered in April that the minister of education cancel his teaching certificate. Latham had 30 days to appeal but he did not exercise that right.
