Sask. government casinos made $35M last year
The money rolled in at Saskatchewan's two government-owned casinos last year.
The Saskatchewan Crown corporation that runs Casino Regina and Casino Moose Jaw made a net profit of $34.9 million in the 2006-2007 fiscal year.
That's from $102 million in revenue and expenses of $67 million, according to a government report released earlier this week.
Half the profits from Saskatchewan Gaming Corporation end up in provincial government coffers.
Another 25 per cent goes to non-profit community organizations, while the remaining 25 per cent goes to the First Nations Trust Fund, which pays for projects in First Nations communities
The two casinos have 1,000 employees.
