Highway flooding continues to be a problem for drivers across the province.

Around 9:30 Monday night, the Highway Hotline reported that all traffic on Highway 1in the Indian Head area east of Regina was disrupted because of water.

According to the Hotline, motorists would have to use detours at Whitewood and Indian Head. Eastbound trucks were still able to get through, however.

Earlier in the day, Highway 16 was down to one lane in both directions around Maidstone.

Another trouble spot was Highway 310 near Foam Lake and, where necessary, barricades and detours were in place. Drivers were advised to go slow and be prepared to stop.

There are a number of other areas where water is covering roads and people are being asked to slow down. The Highways Department says motorists heading out can check the Highway Hotline.

The Water Security Agency has forecast higher than usual runoff around the province this year because of the heavy snow accumulation since last fall.
