Roughriders John Chick, Rob Bagg win CFL weekly honours
After another 3-sack performance, Chick named defensive player of the week for 3rd time
When the Saskatchewan Roughriders send their defence on the field, all eyes are on John Chick.
Chick continued his dominant season with his second-straight three-sack performance against the Montreal Alouettes on Saturday.
In only seven games, the Roughriders defensive end has been named CFL defensive player of the week three times.
The 31-year-old Wyoming product currently has 22 defensive tackles, two forced fumbles, and a CFL-best 12 sacks.
Bagg catches top Canadian
As the Riders offence struggles to get the ball to its new receivers, Rob Bagg stepped up and showed his experience in a 16-11 win against Montreal.
Bagg was named Canadian player of the week after hauling in six passes for 90 yards and a touchdown. Bagg's 30-yard touchdown was Saskatchewan's only major on the day.
The seven-year veteran from Queen's University is currently leading the team with 359 receiving yards.
Roughriders players have now won player of the week honours eight times this season.
B.C. Lions running back Stefan Logan was named offensive player of the week, while Logan's teammate Tim Brown returned his way to special teams player of the week.
