About 400 striking health services workers in Saskatoon will return to their jobs Wednesday, although their union leadership says other locations can expect job action on Thursday.

"No additional job action is planned for Wednesday," the Health Sciences Association said in a news release issued late Tuesday.

The union said the "next phase of escalating strike action" would begin Thursday, with announcements about where and who -- on Thursday morning.

The union represents 3,000 health care workers in a variety of fields. Most of the workers are employed by regional health authorities. Wages are a big factor in the dispute. The union has pulled workers in a series of rotating strikes that  began in April.
