Rosetown teacher accused of sexual exploitation
A 36-year-old teacher from Rosetown, in west-central Saskatchewan, has been charged with sexual exploitation.
The RCMP reported Friday that David Robertson was arrested on Aug. 13 and released the same day. He has a court appearance set for Sept. 22 in provincial court in Rosetown, a community of 2,277 about 115 kilometres southwest of Saskatoon.
Police said they laid the charge after investigating a complaint from a girl, under the age of 18, received on July 31.
They would not provide any other details about the alleged victim, nor the circumstances that led to the charge.
However, the Criminal Code section cited by police — 153.1 — is used when the allegation concerns an accused who is in a position of trust or authority toward a young person.
