Snow is piling up on people's roofs and many are climbing up to shovel it off themselves — sometimes with disastrous results.
Saskatoon's MD Ambulance is advising people to be careful.
Spokesperson Troy Davies said he's already received a call today for a person who fell off their roof. It's best to hire a professional, he said.
"When you get on your roof ... underneath that snow you're going to have a lot of slush with that warmer weather," Davies said. "If you don't know what you're doing, you're not harnessed up right, accidents can happen."
Davies says it's not usual that MD Ambulance gets calls about people falling off their roofs. However, this year's heavy snow means more and more people are attempting it, he said.
