Road conditions bad in Regina area, RCMP say
Roads also poor in the city
Driving conditions around the Regina area are very poor, RCMP say.
The worst spots are:
- Highway 6 to Milestone.
- Highway 11 north to Bethune.
- Highway 46 and Highway 1 to Pilot Butte.
- Highway 1 west to Belle Plaine .
RCMP say officers from the Lumsden detachment have already been dispatched to reports of seven vehicles in the ditch, in just a one hour time period Tuesday.
Officers from the Regina detachment say highways east of the city are ice-covered with poor visibility.
They were advising motorists to slow down and leave extra stopping room between vehicles.
There may also be delays in the area due to traffic tie-ups linked to crashes.
City roads also bad
Police in Regina also had their hands full responding to collisions on city roads.
There was one crash that resulted in minor injuries when a motorist drove into a hydrant on Eastgate Drive.
There have been another 14 reports of property damage on other roads, including the Lewvan Expressway and Ring Road north.
Police do not receive reports of minor fender-benders, where cars can still be moved and there are not injuries. People can report those directly to the insurance company.
