The Saskatchewan Roughriders are adding ice cream to their list of team-related merchandise.

The club's latest marketing drive was unveiled Tuesday in Saskatoon.

The dessert uses the team colour, green, and has a spearmint flavouring. In addition to pails of ice cream, the club is offering ice cream cakes.

"[The] Roughriders sell about 55 to 60 per cent of all merchandise done in the CFL," Steve Mazurak, the club's vice-president of sales and marketing, told CBC News. "So that's pretty phenomenal."

The ice cream is produced by Jerry's Food Emporium in Saskatoon. It is on sale at their store.

Plans are also in the works to sell the ice cream in Regina at the casino and the Italian Star Deli as well as Co-op grocery stores across Saskatchewan.
