A Saskatchewan Roughrider has been charged with aggravated assault after an incident at a Regina nightclub on the Canada Day long weekend.

Kenton Keith, 25, a running back, was expected to appear in court on Wednesday afternoon.

Police said they were called to deal with a fight in which some people were injured on July 2 at a nightclub.

Keith isone of twoprofessional football playersin Reginacurrently facingcriminal charges.

Trevis Smith, a former Saskatchewan Roughrider,is facing two counts of aggravated assault. He is accused of having unprotected sex with two women, one from Regina, one from B.C., without disclosing that he is HIV positive. Smith is due in court in October.
