Riders' Chris Getzlaf wins CFL weekly award

Saskatchewan Roughriders receiver Chris Getzlaf hauled in five passes for a game-high 135 yards and two touchdowns.

Regina product named Canadian Player of the Week

While it was a big performance in a losing cause, Saskatchewan Roughridersslotback Chris Getzlaf has been named the CFL's Canadian Player of the Week. 

The former University of Regina product hauled in five passes for a game-high 135 yards. Getzlaf also caught two touchdowns in the Riders 31-29 loss to the Toronto Argonauts on Saturday.

Getzlaf is currently the top Canadian receiver in the CFL with 708 yards so far this season. He's currently in fourth in the league in total receiving yards and tied for second with seven touchdowns.

Edmonton quarterback Mike Reilly was named the Offensive Player of the Week. B.C. linebacker Adam Bighill picked up the defensive honours, and Calgary punter Rob Maver was named the Special Teams Player of the Week.
