Residents back to suites after fire in Saskatoon building
People are back in their apartments after a building in Saskatoon was evacuated due to a fire just before midnight Friday.
No smoke was showing from the outside when fire crews responded to the 32nd Street West building.
Once firefighters went inside they discovered smoke in the hallways, which eventually led them to a suite with a burning mattress.
They took the mattress outside and extinguished the fire.
Firefighters searched the suite, but could not find anyone inside.
After ventilating the building everyone was allowed back inside. No one was hurt in the incident.
Damage is estimated at about $5,000.
Fire investigators are looking into the cause.
