A Saturday parade and the big game on Sunday — and potential post-game revelry — will affect traffic in Regina on the weekend.

First up, the Grey Cup parade on Saturday starts at 9:30 a.m. and the route will be blocked off several minutes before hand. The parade starts at 20th and Albert Street (just west of the legislature) and moves north along Albert to 9th Avenue (the intersection that leads to Mosaic Stadium). This route is known as "The Green Mile".

There will be more than 50 floats, 30 horses, bands and more.

The parade will take about two hours so expect Albert Street to re-open around noon.

Downtown traffic changes still in place

Regina's downtown, around Victoria Park, is bursting with football fans taking part in Grey Cup activities on the F.W. Hill Mall and City Square Plaza.

The downtown street closures are still in effect:

Scarth Street between Victoria Ave. and 12 Ave.: closed.

Lorne Street between Victoria Ave. and 12 Ave.: closed.

Streets around Mosaic Stadium blocked off

The area around Mosaic Stadium will be on a traffic lock-down for most of Sunday. Game officials, volunteers and residents with permits will be the only vehicles allowed.

The street closures will be in place from 10 a.m. Sunday until Monday at 12:15 a.m. (or until the majority of spectators have cleared the area):

  • All streets east of Elphinstone St. to Albert St.
  • All streets south of Dewdney Ave. to Saskatchewan Drive

Getting to the stadium

There will be limited parking at Evraz Place, west of Mosaic Stadium so ticket holders are encouraged to use Regina Transit's Park and Ride Express buses.

On Grey Cup Sunday, free shuttle service will be provided from the four major malls (Northgate Mall, Normanview Crossing, Victoria Square Mall, Southland Mall) at 3:30 pm, 4:00 pm, and 4:30 pm. The drop off location for these buses will be on Dewdney Avenue, north of Mosaic Stadium.

Also on game day, free shuttle service will be provided from the hotels starting at 2:30 pm. The drop off location for these buses will be on Albert Street, east of Mosaic Stadium.

More details on the Park and Ride are available on the Regina Transit website.
