Regina residents fill up the tank as gas prices plummet
Some gas stations dipped below 60 cents a litre
A lot of people in Regina chose Family Day to fuel up.
Some gas stations in the city dipped below 60 cents a litre. At the DOMO on Albert Street prices were at 58.9 cents a litre on Monday morning.
"I love every minute of it. We get what we can," Ellis Newton said filling up his vehicle.
"I needed gas, I thought I'd get it today and if it goes up tomorrow, I'm sitting good."
Doyle Duncan was heading home and needed to fill the tank but found the dropping prices a nice surprise.
"It's crazy. You know the last time this happened, was probably between 16 to 18 years ago," he said. "This is pretty sweet."
He said the bad thing is that the oil industry is taking a hit.
Scott Hagen said he doesn't think he has seen prices this low in his adult life.
"I haven't seen gas prices this cheap since I was a kid filling up my lawnmower back in 2003 or 2005," he said.
Hagen added it means he will save a lot more money "instead of spending half your cheques on your gas bills."
