While warmer temperatures have been welcome news for most people in Regina, police in the city are emphasizing a seasonal warning this weekend.

Regina police are warning all residents to stay away from thin ice.

Two people were spotted walking out onto thin ice at Wascana Lake this weekend.

Police were able to get their attention and the two residents got back to dry land safely.

Officers say signs are posted warning people about the thin ice and that people should stay away from open water at this time of year.
