Regina Police are investigating after an off-duty police dog bit a man on the exhibition grounds early Friday morning.

Around midnight, a uniformed member of Regina Police took his canine partner out for some exercise.

While the dog was exercising at the west end of the parking lot, it headed towards some buildings at the northwest end of the lot.

Although police are still investigating the circumstances, they say the dog focused on a 38-year-old man who was walking in the area and ended up biting him.

Police say the man was not subject to a criminal investigation and was sent to hospital for treatment.
