The Regina Pats have fired head coach Malcolm Cameron after just one season.

Cameron led the Western Hockey League team to their first east division title in six seasons.

As well, his two assistants Bill McGuigan and Josh Dixon have resigned, the club said Tuesday.

Cameron was hired as an assistant coach in 2011. Last year he replaced Pat Conacher behind the bench.

The change comes less than two months after the team was sold.

A group of local business operators called Queen City Sports & Entertainment Group purchased the team from longtime owners Russ and Diane Parker.
