Regina officer suspended following charges in alleged domestic dispute
A seven-year veteran of the Regina police department has been suspended, with pay, following an alleged domestic dispute that has led to charges.
Police said the officer was arrested after they received a complaint in the early hours of Sunday morning.
According to police the officer was not on duty at the time. The alleged victim in the case, a 34-year-old woman, was known to the officer and police said she did not suffer any physical injuries.
They added that while officers were investigating, the suspect "made further threats to the police members present."
Police said they were releasing the information in accordance with their policies on matters involving officers.
Darcy Allan Dreaver, 36, has been charged with assault, uttering threats and mischief. A court appearance was set for Dec. 27.
