Regina CTV news anchor Manfred Joehnck has been charged with impaired driving, according to police.

Police said they were called to a collision at the corner of Lakeridge Road and Harrison Way in northwest Regina at 5:43 p.m. CST on May 12.

They said a motorcyclist was making a left turn and was hit by the vehicle being driven by Joehnck. The motorcyclist was thrown off the bike and received minor injuries.

Police said Joehnck was taken into custody for a brief time and released.

He was charged with impaired driving and a court appearance is set for May 26 in Regina.

In 2002, Joehnck pleaded guilty to a drinking and driving charge. He apologized and lost his driver's licence for a year.

Joehnck has been anchor for the CTV News in Regina since 2001.
