Some people in Regina are organizing a rally in Victoria Park Saturday afternoon to call for an end to the violence in Gaza.

CBC has been reporting on Israel's bombardment on the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip Saturday.

The main organizer, Abu Anees, moved to Saskatchewan from Gaza City six years ago.

"I spoke with my three-year-old niece yesterday on Skype and could hear the constant air raid in the background," Anees is quoted saying in a press release.

"She is … terrified, shaking and unable to sleep," he said.

The rally is scheduled to take place Saturday at 3 p.m. in Regina's Victoria Park.
