Amid recent heightened concerns about oil tank trains, Regina firefighters were at work Thursday practising on a mock oil blaze.

The exercise at the department's training centre was designed to familiarize 20 new recruits with operating procedures, equipment and techniques.

The centre is located at 1201 Ross Ave.
