An intense thunderstorm Thursday has many people in Regina and area cleaning up, a day later.

Heavy rains led to flooded basements and fierce winds toppled trees.

In some areas people were without power due to downed lines. SaskPower said Friday afternoon that most customers have had their electricity restored.

In Regina, homeowners like Modesto Tibar face the chore of drying out basements.

"Yesterday when I come down here,

[I said] 'Oh, my God. What happened to the basement?'" Tibar said. "All water ... the entire basement."

The effects were also felt at the Regent Pool, which was overloaded with water and closed on Friday for clean up.

The new Canadian Tire store was open on Friday, but it was closed early Thursday due to flooding.

The Royal Regina golf course was also trying to get rid of excess water on Friday.
