Regina brings West Nile to doorstep
The city of Regina is sending information about the West Nile Virus to every household in the city.
The Deputy medical health officer says the material will focus on how to minimize standing water and eliminate mosquito breeding sites.
The West Nile virus is spread by mosquitoes that feed on the blood of infected birds. It reached Saskatchewan and Montana last summer.
West Nile can cause severe inflammation of the brain and other complications.
