When Paul McCartney rocks Regina tonight, he will play with some hometown bagpipers.

The City of Regina Pipe Band will play Mull of Kintyre with the former Beatle.

Bagpiper Iain MacDonald says although he'll be playing for his biggest crowd ever, he's not overly nervous.

"You always hope you're not the one that trips and does a faceplant on the stage in front of all those people because it will be immortalized on YouTube," MacDonald said.

"But other than that, no, it's a reasonably simple tune and the directions that the band gives are straight ahead."

The pipe band will get to meet Paul McCartney's band during a sound check this afternoon. MacDonald said it's all pretty exciting.

"Especially if you're my age, it's like 'Wow I'm playing on stage with one of the Beatles.' That's pretty cool," he said.

Paul McCartney plays at Mosaic Stadium in Regina on Wednesday night. Doors open at 6 p.m. CST and McCartney is expected to take the stage at 8 p.m.
