RCMP in the Swift Current, Sask. area are looking for a passing motorist who may have witnessed a fatal crash on Highway 1 five kilometres west of Tompkins, Sask. 

A westbound vehicle with five people inside lost control and rolled at 12:45 a.m. CST Saturday. One person was thrown from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other four people were taken to hospital in Swift Current. There is no word on how serious their injuries are.

RCMP said they were told a vehicle pulling a trailer had initially stopped at the scene but left prior to their arrival. They are asking the driver and any passengers to contact them to provide information about the crash.

Traffic was restricted to single-lane travel in both directions all night while police investigated. They planned to re-open the highway at about 10 a.m. CST.
