RCMP said on May 1, an eight-year-old girl was walking home around 7 p.m. CST on the south side of the city when she was approached by a red, "Econoline-style" van.

The girl told police there were two males in the van — one driving and the other a passenger. The passenger told her to get in.

She refused and ran. She told police the passenger chased her for a short distance, but she got away.
