A Winnipeg man faces drug trafficking charges after police stopped a car Thursday afternoon near Moose Jaw and found six kilograms of cocaine, RCMP said.
According to police, a patrol officer stopped a car heading east on the Trans-Canada Highway for a traffic violation.
After the officer noticed something suspicious,a police dog was brought in to search the vehicle and discovered the cocaine,RCMP said.
Police arrested the driver and seized his car.
The cocaine was estimated to have a street value of nearly $500,000, and police said it was enough to have supplied hundreds of people for several days.
The 57-year-old suspect is scheduled to appear in court Friday in Moose Jaw to face trafficking charges.
