RCMP investigating shot dog near Saltcoats

RCMP are investigating the shooting of a dog near Saltcoats, Sask. Monday night. Police say the family pet was found dead with gunshot wounds in a ditch near its owners' rural home.

RCMP are investigating the shooting of a dog near Saltcoats, Sask. Monday night. 

Police say the family pet was found dead with gunshot wounds in a ditch near its owners' rural home. Investigators say it was shot between 8 and 9 p.m. CST. 

Police have also told CBC they did not receive any complaints that evening about a dog.

They're asking for anyone with information to call the RCMP in Yorkton at 306-786-4500, or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 and online at www.saskcrimestoppers.com. 

Saltcoats is 30 kilometres southeast of Yorkton.
