RCMP believe alcohol a factor in ATV rollover death

RCMP are investigating after a man died and a 14-year-old girl was injured after their ATV rolled over near Togo, Sask. Police believe alcohol and improper use of the vehicle were a factors in the rollover.

A 40-year-old man is dead and a 14-year-old girl is in hospital after an ATV rolled near a rural area west of Togo, Sask Saturday afternoon.

RCMP believe alcohol and improper use of the vehicle were factors in the rollover.

Officers were called to the area just before 5 p.m. CST. When they arrived, police discovered the man, who was driving the ATV, was not responsive. 

Paramedics performed CPR on the man, but they were unable to revive him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 14-year old girl, who was a passenger on the quad, was seriously hurt. She was taken to hospital in Yorkton with non-life threatening injuries. 

RCMP and the Coroner's office continue to investigate.

Togo is located close to the Manitoba border, approximately 30 kilometres southeast of Kamsack.
