Campuses at the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technology have shut down because of the sudden death of the institution's president, Randell Morris.

The school's campuses in Saskatoon, Regina and Prince Albert will remain closed through Wednesday.

Morris worked at S.I.I.T. for two decades.

In a news release, the school offered condolences to the Morris family.

"Our sympathies, thoughts and prayers go out to Randell Morris’s family," the release said. "As a member of the George Gordon First Nation, Randell was a strong leader and he will be greatly missed by all his friends, staff and students."

The school said funeral arrangements would be announced shortly by the family.
