A 19 year-old-man in Prince Albert, Sask., is facing a number of charges after police received a call of reckless driving Saturday morning.

Police suspect the man was drunk when he reportedly hit another vehicle at the intersection of 16 Avenue West and 15 Street West just after 6 a.m. CT.

Police say the driver then left the scene, sped down 16 Avenue West and collided with two other parked vehicles further down the street. There was extensive damage to all four vehicles.

The driver then got out of the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. Police searched the area and apprehended the man with the help of a police dog.

The man is now in custody and is scheduled to appear in court Monday morning.

He is believed to have been the only occupant in the vehicle at the time of the crashes, and he now is facing charges that include impaired driving, dangerous driving and two charges of failing to remain at the scene of an accident.

Police said there were three other unrelated instances of impaired driving in Prince Albert over the weekend.
