Prince Albert inmate escapes from Riverbend

Prince Albert police are warning people about an inmate who escaped from the Riverbend Insitution Friday night.

Police in Prince Albert, Sask., are warning people about an inmate who escaped from Riverbend Institution on Friday night.

Terrance Michael Yew, 39, was found missing during the jail's routine count at 9:30 p.m. CST. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Terrance Yew is described as being five feet 11 inches tall, weighing 107 kilograms (236 pounds), with brown eyes and black hair. Police say he has a small scar on his right cheek.

Yew is currently serving a sentence of two years and 10 months for driving a motor vehicle while disqualified.

If anyone sees Yew or knows of his whereabouts they are asked to call police.

Riverbend is a minimum-security institution, with about 112 inmates, located next to the Prince Albert Penitentiary. It is located about one kilometre west of the community.
